Data & methodology
What the data is, how dates are derived and where the limits are.
Source
TED — Tenders Electronic Daily, the EU Publications Office's official journal supplement. We store every daily package unchanged (checksums), parse it, and keep the link from every fact to the original notice.
Coverage now
7,813,215 notices from 1 Jan 2015 to 16 Oct 2026; 356,998 buyers; 178,511 contract lines with an expected window.
Date provenance
- Exact — the contract end date as published.
- Calculated — published start or signature date plus the published duration, or the planned period of the contract notice.
- Inferred — the buyer's own re-tender cadence (at least three cycles), or the typical term of the category (low confidence).
- Unknown — nothing above: no window is shown.
Confidence
High, Medium or Low from fixed rules: how the end date is known, renewals still possible, how many earlier cycles the buyer ran and whether its cadence agrees. The reasons are listed on every contract-cycle page.
Limits
TED carries procurements above the EU thresholds and voluntary publications; smaller contracts, call-offs under framework agreements and direct awards are often invisible. A buyer may extend, bring a service in-house or stop. Identity of buyers and suppliers is resolved by published identifiers and exact names — two spellings of one organisation can remain separate.
Forecast tracking
Every forecast is stored with its window. When the next tender appears we record whether it came inside, before or after the window.
